Temazcal

A Journey With the Ancients

Meaning “house of heat,” the temazcal is a traditional dome-shaped chamber made of earthen clay. Representing the womb of Mother Earth, it has been used by pre-Hispanic cultures for curative ceremonies over thousands of years. On this deeply spiritual journey of health and purification, you’ll be led by a local shaman (healer), who warms stones on a fire outside, brings them in to warm up the temazcal, and transforms your body and spirit through heat, herbal steam, and song. The 90-minute ritual leaves you detoxified, stimulated, challenged, and connected.
