Meaning “house of heat,” the temazcal is a traditional dome-shaped chamber made of earthen clay. Representing the womb of Mother Earth, it has been used by pre-Hispanic cultures for curative ceremonies over thousands of years. On this deeply spiritual journey of health and purification, you’ll be led by a local curandero (healer), who warms stones on a fire outside, brings them in to warm up the temazcal, and transforms your body and spirit through heat, herbal steam, and song. The 90-minute ritual leaves you detoxified, stimulated, challenged, and connected.

We recommend arriving early to immerse yourself in the space and enjoy time to relax and restore before your treatment. Spa and salon guests are welcome to lounge at their leisure and enjoy the dedicated outdoor spa pool on the day of their treatment. We offer couple’s treatment rooms as well as outdoor “nests,” where your session is held under a thatched canopy, refreshed by ocean breezes.
